Managed to crack the cups off of a strut mount so they’ll stack. But now we need to find something to fill the remaining void.

Looking good!

Also, do you have any experience with the APR Carbonio intakes?

Great, I appreciate it!

First question, how’s the sound? I’ve heard they make BOV type noises, but I don’t want anything too obnoxious.

And the other question is do they void any warranties?

They do not make a blow off sound, but you will hear the turbo much clearer. Its not annoying, and actually adds a lot to the driving experience in my opinion.

The warranty question is always a tough one because there isn’t a clear yes or no answer. The law says that the burden of proof is on the dealer to prove your modification caused the issue in order to deny your claim. Ie: they can’t deny a warranty claim of something in your electrical system because of an intake. But if you somehow got a defective turbo, they could point to the intake and BS about it causing excess load levels. The best way to get around that is to keep your stock airbox and swap it back out if you ever need warranty work done.

Ah, thanks for all the info!

As I said before, I’m just trying to get the Jetta on the same performance level as a stock GTi or so.

I would say for that you’re looking at an intake and a tune. You have to overshoot the numbers a little bit because your car is a little heavier and the gearing is different. But all in all, that comes out to just over a grand, so not a bad investment.

Ah, that sounds good.

I’ve got like $4,000 worth of crap I want, so there’s a lot of tinkering in the future.

Dude, don’t order from ECS. They ship the wrong parts and their after sale support leaves a lot to be desired.

That’s happened to me before, haha.

When I had my A4, I ordered a set of floor mats. They shipped Allroad floormats......
